In other news, Ned got into Cornell Engineering. I got rejected from a job that would have brought me to Terry. My father died on my birthday Sunday. And so it goes.

We are so sad to hear about your father's death. He was a great dad, with a wonderful wry sense of humor. I am deeply concerned about Lola, since she and your dad seemed like such a devoted couple. What can we do in lieu of flowers?
